Jannat 2 is a upcoming Bollywood crime thriller film and a sequel to the 2008 hit film, Jannat. The film is directed by Kunal Deshmukh, and produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhattunder the Vishesh Films' banner. Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda, Imran Zahid and Esha Gupta will feature in lead roles. Its storyline is based on the issue of illegal arms in Delhi.[2][3]The film started filming on October 1, 2011,and is scheduled for release on April 27, 2012.

Earlier, actress Prachi Desai was signed on to play the female lead opposite Hashmi, but was later replaced by Esha Gupta, due to the fact that the director, Kunal Deshmukh, felt Desai could not fit the part of being bold and sensual, while Desai also was not comfortable with it. Bengali actress Paoli Dam was also reported to be considered for the female lead.In October 2011, film was shot in the lines of Delhi Airport Metro Express.
